The AVGD team is looking for families to join our movement in creating an attitude of gratitude.
Make a difference and help support the Children’s Home Society’s Annual Back2School Drive. With the generous assistance of our community and corporate partners, our goal is to build and deliver 250 Backpacks that will contribute to the 1,000 backpacks CHS hopes to donate.
With the passion and teamwork of our AVGD Family Volunteers, we know it will be a successful endeavor.
EVENT OVERVIEW
We want for you to enjoy and engage your children during this event, therefore we have taken the work out of it for you. Come prepared to “build-a-backpack” with your family. Work your way through our pre-prepped school supply stations set up with back-to-school essential supplies. You will have the opportunity to work at your pace and rotate through each station as you connect with your community, your children and the cause.
There will be a dedicated activity table where you and your children can color and/or draw pictures and write notes to personalize their special donation of time.
LIFE LESSON
Sending kids back to school is expensive, whether you are relatively affluent or you are straddling the poverty line. For those living paycheck to paycheck and struggling to put food on the table, school supplies are far outside their budget. With very little effort, we can all help make a difference in the lives of kids this school year.
Please Don’t Forget to Prepay
You’re welcome to pre-pay for as many backpacks as you expect you and/or your family will make. Please remember that all supplies will be provided for you, all you have to do is help put a backpack together!
Click on the ‘Pre-Register’ link above to access our donation page and enter your name to be added to our pre-register check-in list. Backpacks are a minimum donation of $20. Follow the “Pre-Register’ link and manually enter your desired donation dollar amount.
